Sacraments
Sacraments of Initiation

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA):

Adults who wish to become sacramental participants in the Catholic Church through Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist are invited to contact Gretta Barnes.  Parents whose children 7 years of age and older are not Baptized and wish to celebrate the Sacraments of Initiation should contact Gretta Barnes.

Sacrament of Baptism:
Parents seeking Baptism for a child under the age of 7 must have completed our parish registration process and attended a parent information session prior to the Baptism of their child.  Our upcoming parent session is scheduled for March 10, 2010.  Call Gretta Barnes for more information.

First Eucharist or First Reconciliation:
In the Diocese of Richmond, these sacraments are typically prepared for and first celebrated in the second grade.  Contact Michelle White.

Sacrament of Confirmation:
Preparation begins in grade 10 or above.  Contact Michelle White.

Sacrament of Marriage
Registered parishioners must contact the parish at least 6 months in advance of making plans for their marriage.  Contact Mark Hoggard.

Reconciliation
Each Saturday of each month at 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., or by appointment.

The Sick / Ministry of Care
Please call the parish office to arrange for communion, anointing of the sick, or when someone is ill, in the hospital or in need of help in any way.  (Please note: the privacy rules do not allow the hospital to contact the parish.)

Christian Funerals
The death of a Christian is a time for the Church to ministers to those who mourn, and to celebrate the life of one who has gone to God, the author of all life.  We will assist you in planning a Christian funeral upon the death of a loved one, or many people choose to plan funerals -- even one's own -- in advance.  For resources and policies of planning a funeral at St. Therese, please click here.

Immediately upon the death of a family member, please contact Fr. Jim.  He and other members of our parish will assist you in preparing the funeral and with any other needs you may have.

   - Questions about everything you're wondering about, from the big questions to the
     day-to-day details.

   - Watch videos of roundtable discussions with priests, seminarians and those considering
the call (once on the "Behind the Collar" web site, click on "Discuss").
   - Get more information, sign up for email updates, or set up a meeting with
Fr. Michael Renniger, Vicar of Vocations, Diocese of Richmond.
