As followers of Jesus, nourished by the Word, the Eucharist, and one another, we are called to joyfully spread the Good News by praising God, serving the poor, comforting the sick, and welcoming all.

The parish of Saint Thérèse was founded in 1954 in the chapel of the Little Flower Elementary School on Oregon Avenue in Portsmouth, VA. When the school merged with two others in 1970, our parish began worshiping in the auditorium of Chittum Elementary School and broke ground on a new space in 1971. Our current location was dedicated in 1972 and expanded in 1996. For more than 60 years since our humble beginning, our parish is still doing “small things with great love.” We are proud to be a friendly and welcoming parish.
