The hospitality ministry is a small group of people who set up to serve light finger foods along with coffee and sodas on Saturdays after the 5:00 pm Masses. After the 8:30 am and 11:00 am Masses the setup is Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee.
The responsibilities also include cleaning up. A team of dishwashers is also there to take care of the dishes. (We use dishes in an effort to be more environmentally conscientious; creating less waste which will just overload the already full landfills.)
These after Mass gatherings give everyone a chance to sit, relax, grab a bite to eat, something to quench their thirst and chat with friends or strike up a conversation with new ones.
The number of folks who are willing to be there and take on these responsibilities is dwindling. There are more and more folks who come into the social hall on Hospitality Weekends, but not enough people doing set up, clean up and dishes. This activity could be on the verge of disappearing.
If you’d like to see this activity continue, please speak to Kathy Renigar in the social hall this weekend or contact her at 757 376-7160
