Many people are concerned about changes occurring in our world daily. There are appeals from various agencies, including a recent one from the USCCB and Catholic Relief Services at Millions of children and families are at risk: Help Keep Hope Alive! | Catholic Relief Services. People are sometimes confused about which appeals to respond to. The Virginia Catholic Conference is engaged in these issues on behalf of the Bishops of Richmond and Arlington. If you would like to provide your input, responding to various VCC appeals for action is a great way to engage as we know they represent the concerns of our Church, including Catholic social teaching and our faith traditions. Portsmouth Volunteers for the Homeless
COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR WALK

Again, this year, our Church of St. Therese Justice & Peace (J&P) Committee will be supporting the Portsmouth Volunteers for the Homeless organization by participating in the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) Walk fundraising & community building activity at the Portsmouth downtown riverfront on Saturday, February 22, 2025, with start time at 5 p.m. Walk distance along the waterfront varies based on each participants’ desires, ranging anywhere between 1 and 3 miles. Some walkers walk an even shorter distance.
